This unique project features 35 single detached homes for active seniors over the age of 55. The land was purchased through the Dept of Economic & Community Development and the units are restricted to seniors under the CHFA income limits. The houses are specially designed modified ranch style units with an attached one-car garage and containing two bedrooms and 11/2 baths. Construction financing is being provided by Liberty Bank of Middletown, CT. In order to help make the project more affordable State of Connecticut housing tax credits are being used on this development. The homes are part of a common interest community so that the homeowners association will provide all exterior maintenance requirements. The total estimated cost of the project is $3,412,516 and it is slated to be completed in 2002.
